The AIGA Portland Sustainability Initiative provides information for members on sustainable business practices—from design process to materials use to greening your office. Our Green Team committee has researched and compiled information about local resources for printing, paper, packaging, manufacturing, distribution, and venue and catering options for events—and we’ll continue to enhance these resources.

As designers, we have the ability to impact the environment with our design decisions. It is argued that a good design solution both meets the client’s goals and considers the impact on the environment — not to mention has the ability to educate or inspire the audience. As you incorporate these ideas into your own practice, consider this list of 11 questions to help guide you.
