AIGA Portland is an all volunteer organization and is only as good as its dedicated volunteer team. It takes smart, creative people like yourself to make it happen. Here’s what you need to know to get involved today:

Who volunteers?

People that design, people that support design and people that work with designers. Sound like you? Most of our volunteers are print designers, interactive designers, copywriters, art directors, small business owners and more.

Why volunteer?

Advancing the field of design benefits you as well as society. AIGA Portland is the perfect conduit for for moving the design community forward. Plus, you make great connections that can advance your own career. The volunteers at AIGA Portland are also lots of fun to work with. You’ll probably make great friends along the way.

Anyone interested in the profession of design can volunteer. Our volunteers are animators, copywriters, interactive designers, freelancers and small business owners. It’s a great way to network and make contacts, learn some new skills and stay connected to a community of folks who share the same passion — design.

There are three kinds of volunteers:

Event Volunteers

Prepare for events and offer day-of event help. Examples of tasks include: assisting board members in preparing logistics, helping with set-up, staffing registration, greeting guests and helping with tear-down.

Committee Volunteers

Take charge of a specific task or event and report directly to a member of the board. This commitment is ongoing and requires more of a time commitment. Duties vary by committee.

Design Volunteers

Work directly with the board on a design project that directly benefits the local chapter of the AIGA. Could be an event promotion or chapter membership piece.

Get Oriented

We introduce all new volunteers through an orientation meeting each quarter. If you’re interested let us know and we’ll invite you to our next get-together. After we’ve met we’ll add you to our list and let you know about future opportunities.
