Plan B

A sun-soaked dMob

This month, dMob heads to Plan B. This southeast staple sports a huge, semi-covered patio (perfected for celebrating the belated arrival of summer), a killer juke, two pinball machines, three skeletons, and 40-50 soon-to-arrive local designer types. Get there before 7:00 and treat yourself to a happy hour featuring $1 domestics, $3 wells & micros, and food starting at $2.50. Bring your Vitamin-D-starved buddies and don’t forget the dMob mantra: “Can I buy you a drink?”

RESOURCE: Green Design Expo

Designers are eager to infuse their work with green design thinking. And we’re here to help. As part of AIGA Portland’s sustainability initiative, this year’s vendor expo will focus on green design.

This event offers designers a unique opportunity to learn more about sustainable design strategies and how to make them real. A combination of speakers, breakouts and a local product and service expo provide an interesting mix of insights and inspiration.

Designers can create measurable change by rethinking how they do their work. We hope you’ll choose to be part of what will be an exciting ongoing exchange.

Beauty Bar

April 2010 dMob - Beauty Bar

Something about sparkly pink striped walls puts us in the right mood. Great tunes on the stereo emit a definite party vibe. The place is furnished with vintage dryer chairs and a big cozy couch. Dimly lit candles set a luminous tone. The usual suspects are here: beer, wine, and spirits. And some not so usual: a $10 Martini & Manicure Happy Hour that lasts into the night for dMobsters.

The kind folks at the Beauty Bar have also extended their regular happy hour all night: draft beers $3, tall boys $2, and cocktails $6 (they’re freaking delicious).
