Join us at Ecotrust for our third “SHIFT: A Green Salon” to hear 10 five-minute presentations from creatives and innovators that are making visual communications better and more sustainable. This inspiring and educational evening will also include a short Q&A, mingling, and giveaways – while enjoying fresh local cupcakes from Peach Cheesecake and 52 Ltd. and beer, which is *free* if you bring your own mug and are older than Taylor Swift.

Wanna a place that makes you want a beer, a nautical tattoo, and to play pinball all at the same time? Head up to North Portland this Wednesday for cheap eats & drinks… onion rings, tater tots, and $1 Old German beers. Yep, we’ll be meeting at the dive gem, The Florida Room. Laid back friendly bartenders will fresh-squeeze juices right into your drink as well as serve you an array of Bloody Marys at this drive-in style hot spot. The dark, kitschy interior holds one of the best old skool jukeboxes in town. Not to mention a game room and photo-booth.

Designers are eager to infuse their work with green design thinking. And we’re here to help. As part of AIGA Portland’s sustainability initiative, this year’s vendor expo will focus on green design.

This event offers designers a unique opportunity to learn more about sustainable design strategies and how to make them real. A combination of speakers, breakouts and a local product and service expo provide an interesting mix of insights and inspiration.

Designers can create measurable change by rethinking how they do their work. We hope you’ll choose to be part of what will be an exciting ongoing exchange.

Something about sparkly pink striped walls puts us in the right mood. Great tunes on the stereo emit a definite party vibe. The place is furnished with vintage dryer chairs and a big cozy couch. Dimly lit candles set a luminous tone. The usual suspects are here: beer, wine, and spirits. And some not so usual: a $10 Martini & Manicure Happy Hour that lasts into the night for dMobsters.
